Data deletion
How to request deletion of data connected to the SplitMyText app, published by Jermaine Walkes.
There is almost nothing to delete
SplitMyText has no accounts and no sign-in, and the text you split is never uploaded or stored — it exists only on your device while the app is open. Your settings (theme, split options, presets) are stored only on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app.
What data exists off your device
- Advertising data (free tier only): Google AdMob processes device identifiers, approximate location, ad interactions and crash/diagnostic data to serve the banner ad, under Google’s privacy policy.
- Purchase data (Pro only): Google Play processes your purchase; RevenueCat, our billing processor, receives the store purchase token and a random, anonymous app-user ID — never your name, email or payment details.
How to request deletion
Email privacy@splitmytext.com from any address, with the subject “Data deletion request”. Because the app holds no account, please mention roughly when you used the app and whether you purchased Pro, so we can pass the request to the right processor. We will:
- ask RevenueCat to delete the anonymous purchase record, if you purchased Pro;
- point you at Google’s own controls for advertising data (Google Ad Centre), which we cannot delete on your behalf;
- confirm completion within 30 days.
What is kept
Nothing is retained by us: we run no servers for the app and hold no user database. Google retains purchase records as required for tax and accounting law; those are governed by Google’s privacy policy.
