What SplitMyText does — and deliberately doesn't do — with your data. Last updated 4 July 2026.

In short

SplitMyText is a free tool that splits long text into smaller parts. The text you paste is never uploaded, never stored and never seen by us. There is no account and no sign-in. The splitting happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript; when you close or reload the tab, your text is gone.

Your text

Everything you type or paste into the splitter stays in your browser tab:

  • No text is transmitted to this website's server or to any third party — the splitter has no server side at all.
  • No text is saved on your device either: the tool does not autosave, and browser storage is used only for your settings (your part size and numbering choice) — never for content.
  • Nothing you split appears in the page address, so it cannot end up in browser history or server logs.

Cookies & analytics

This website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use it — for example which pages are viewed and how often the splitter is used (we record that a split happened and which mode was used, never any text or its length). Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them on the cookie banner; until then nothing is stored and no analytics data is sent (we use Google Consent Mode with analytics denied by default). Google Analytics processes usage data (including a shortened IP address) on our behalf under Google’s privacy policy; we don’t sell your data and don’t try to identify you personally. You can change your cookie choice at any time.

Advertising

To keep the tool free, this site may show a single banner ad served by Google AdSense. When ads are enabled, Google’s advertising technology may collect and process information such as your IP address, device characteristics and interactions with ads, in line with how Google uses data from sites and apps that use its services. Where required (including the UK and EEA), you will be asked for consent before any personalised advertising, and can choose non-personalised ads. Ads never receive the text you paste — the ad unit is entirely separate from the splitter.

Server logs

Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, requested page and time) for security and reliability. These logs never contain the text you split.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you choose to send, and use them only to reply. They are delivered to our support mailbox and are not shared with anyone else.

Children

SplitMyText is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Because we hold no account for you and never receive your text, there is very little data to exercise rights over — but subject to applicable law (including the UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal data, and to object to certain processing. For analytics or ad-related data, use the cookie banner or Google’s controls; for anything else, email us at privacy@splitmytext.com.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves; we’ll revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
