Split long text into paste-ready parts

Pasting into something with a character limit — an AI chat, SMS, Discord, a comment box? Drop your text below, set the limit and copy the parts one by one.

0 characters

Your text is never uploaded or stored. Splitting runs entirely in your browser — the text lives only in this tab and is gone when you leave.

How it works

Three steps, no account

Built for the "paste part 1, wait, paste part 2" workflow that limited text boxes force on you.

1

Paste your text

A code review, an essay, a whole transcript — it stays on your device.

2

Set the limit

Tell it the character limit you're up against. Parts break cleanly at word boundaries — never mid-word, never mid-emoji.

3

Copy part by part

Each part gets a copy button that ticks when used, and "Copy next" walks through them in order — you never lose your place.

FAQ

Common questions

Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The splitter is plain JavaScript running in your browser — there is no server-side processing and no account. Your text is never transmitted, and nothing you type is saved: close or reload the tab and it's gone. Only your settings (like your preferred part size) are remembered, never content.
What does "Number Each Part" do?
It prefixes every part with a header like [Part 2/5 — wait for all parts before replying], which tells whoever (or whatever) you're pasting to that more is coming. The header's length is counted inside your limit, so header plus text always fits. It's especially useful when pasting long text into AI chats or building a thread on X.
Will words or emoji get cut in half?
No. Parts break at word boundaries (a word is only ever cut if it's longer than your whole limit), and emoji or other multi-character symbols are never split down the middle.
Can I split by words, sentences, or a delimiter like a comma?
Those modes — along with saved presets, custom part headers and overlap — are in the SplitMyText app for iPhone and iPad (Mac and Android coming soon). The website keeps things simple: one character limit, clean parts. For platform-specific walkthroughs, see the guides for Discord, SMS and Instagram.
